Metabolic

Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)

Unit: mg/dLID: M013

What This Test Measures

Primary protein on atherogenic particles; reflects particle number

Conventional vs. Functional Optimal Range

Conventional "Normal"
<90 mg/dL
Your doctor says you're "fine" anywhere in this range
Functional Optimal
30-60 mg/dL
This is where you actually feel great

The gap between these ranges is why you feel terrible with "normal" labs. Conventional medicine waits for disease. Functional medicine optimizes for health.

Gabriel's Take

ApoB measures the NUMBER of atherogenic particles (LDL, VLDL, Lp(a)). One ApoB per particle. Better predictor than LDL-C. Gabriel's optimal band: 30-60 mg/dL. Gabriel reads ApoB as the primary lipid marker.

When This Test Is High

High cardiovascular risk

When This Test Is Low

Low cardiovascular risk

Related Conditions

Atherosclerosis, heart disease

Recommended Follow-Up

If elevated, check LDL-P, insulin resistance, inflammation; optimize diet and lipids
