Safety Profile

Contraindications & Risks
High-dose biotin can interfere with lab tests (warning), vitamin D toxicity rare but monitor calcium, LDN generally safe
Important Notes

MS is demyelinating disease - immune system attacks myelin sheath. Vitamin D deficiency strongly associated with MS risk and disease activity - high-dose D is cornerstone. Terry Wahls reversed progressive MS with her protocol (see AI-001) - remarkable case, pilot study shows feasibility. George Jelinek's OMS program (plant-based, very low saturated fat, high omega-3) has data showing reduced relapse rate. Two different dietary approaches (Wahls: paleo/nutrient-dense with meat, OMS: plant-based low-fat) - both report success, choose based on individual. High-dose biotin (MD1003) has RCT showing reduced disability in progressive MS (hard to treat). LDN widely used in MS community with anecdotal benefit. Alpha-lipoic acid showed reduced brain atrophy in MS trial. Gluten elimination common recommendation (molecular mimicry). Gut microbiome implicated - probiotics/fermented foods. Heat worsens MS (Uhthoff's phenomenon) - keep cool. Stress triggers relapses. Continue conventional DMTs - these are complementary. Many patients achieve long-term remission with integrative approach + DMTs.
