Frequency Specific Microcurrent.

What it is

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) delivers very low electrical currents, in the millionths of an amp, through two channels at once. One frequency is chosen for the condition, such as inflammation or scar tissue, and the other for the tissue, such as nerve, muscle or fascia. The current is so low that most people feel nothing.

Practitioners use FSM for nerve pain, fibromyalgia, disc and sports injuries and scar tissue, with protocols refined over decades of clinical use. Many patients report meaningful relief, though the research is still early and how it works isn't fully understood.

What happens at a visit

1. An assessment of your condition and the frequency protocols to use.
2. Damp towel electrodes placed around the treatment area.
3. A current so low you usually can't feel it.
4. Sessions of about 60 to 90 minutes.
5. Some people notice less pain or tension during the session.
6. Drink plenty of water before and after.
7. A series of sessions for long-standing problems.

Evidence and safety
