Two different companies, two different meanings of "cost-plus"
Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (Cost Plus Drugs) is a separate company with its own pharmacy prices. Gabriel is not part of it and is not affiliated with it.
Gabriel also uses the words "cost-plus prices" for the price a signed-in free Gabriel account pays on supplements, lab tests and prescriptions bought through Gabriel. That is Gabriel's own pricing. It is not the Cost Plus Drugs price list, and the two numbers are set differently.
Prices side by side
Gabriel's compounded options come first, because Cost Plus Drugs doesn't list them. Then common generics, where Cost Plus Drugs posts a price for each strength and count.

How Cost Plus Drugs sets its prices
Each Cost Plus Drugs medication page breaks the price into parts, using its own labels: "Manufacturing", a 15% markup, $5.00 pharmacy labor, and standard shipping added at checkout. Its FAQ says it calculates the markup "by multiplying the price we pay for the medication by 0.15."
- Shipping: standard shipping is $5.25 for 1 to 2 prescriptions, $7.50 for 3 to 4, $9.50 for 5 to 6 and $16.00 for 7 or more. Expedited shipping is $15 to $25, depending on the number of prescriptions.
- Timing: 2 to 3 business days to prepare the order, then 5 to 7 business days for standard shipping.
- Prescription: you ask your own U.S.-based provider to send a prescription to its pharmacy partner. It does not prescribe.
- Insurance: you don't need insurance to sign up. It accepts prescription insurance from select providers only.
- Coupons: it does not accept coupons or discount cards.
- Not sold: controlled medications aren't available, and it fills only what is on its medication list.
What Gabriel includes
- Free account (Gabriel Access): ask Gabriel anything by app, web, text or voice, and upload any lab report for a plain-words explanation. A signed-in free account pays cost-plus prices on supplements, lab tests and prescriptions through Gabriel.
- Prescription requests: a licensed clinician reviews every request and decides.
- Gabriel Core, $49 a month: member prices on prescriptions, lab tests and supplements, unlimited virtual primary care and virtual urgent care, and a care team by text. Kids under 18 are included. See membership.
- Gabriel Plus, $89 a month: everything in Core, plus a yearly root-cause visit (up to $200), an at-home lab kit each year and free shipping on orders through Gabriel (some items excluded). See Plus.

Where Cost Plus Drugs is the better choice
- You already have a prescription for a common generic. At $5.31 to $5.97 for 30 tablets plus shipping as of October 17, 2026, its price for drugs like atorvastatin, lisinopril or metformin can be lower than paying through Gabriel.
- You only need a pharmacy. There is no membership fee, and you don't need an account with a care service.
- You want to see the math. Each medication page shows the drug amount, the markup and the pharmacy labor fee.
- You want to use insurance for some medicines. It accepts prescription insurance from select providers, and it takes many HSA and FSA cards.
Gabriel fits better when you need a licensed clinician to review a request, want a compounded GLP-1 option, or want virtual primary care and help with labs in one place. You can also use a pharmacy like Cost Plus Drugs and a health service side by side.
Common questions
Is Gabriel the same as Cost Plus Drugs?
No. Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company is a separate online pharmacy. Gabriel's "cost-plus prices" are what a free Gabriel account pays through Gabriel, not Cost Plus Drugs prices.
Is Cost Plus Drugs cheaper than Gabriel?
For many common generics, it can be. As of October 17, 2026, atorvastatin 20 mg was $5.41 for 30 tablets plus $5.25 standard shipping. Gabriel doesn't publish a price for those generics, so ask Gabriel for yours.
Does Cost Plus Drugs sell semaglutide or tirzepatide?
Its medication search showed no results for either on October 17, 2026. Through Gabriel, compounded semaglutide is $89 to $116 a month and compounded tirzepatide $135 to $225, after a licensed clinician reviews the request. Compounded medications aren't FDA-approved. A licensed clinician decides what's right for you.
Do I need a prescription for Cost Plus Drugs?
Yes. Cost Plus Drugs says you need a prescription from your U.S.-based provider for every medication it lists. It does not write prescriptions.
Does Cost Plus Drugs take insurance or GoodRx coupons?
Insurance isn't required, and it accepts prescription insurance from select providers only. It does not accept coupons or discount cards.
