What Hims offers

  • Focused programs for hair loss, sexual health, weight loss, low testosterone and mental health, each with its own online consultation and subscription.
  • Weight loss membership: $39 the first month, then $149 a month, billed separately from medication. It includes a personalized treatment plan, 24/7 messaging access with licensed providers and a Hims smart scale. The weight loss page lists brand-name GLP-1 pills and injections, with medication from $149 to $299 a month for most options.
  • Low testosterone: Hims offers a daily oral medicine with enclomiphene, alone or with tadalafil, on 3-, 5- or 10-month plans, with at-home labs first. Its FAQ says it does not offer TRT injections, and that enclomiphene is not FDA-approved.
  • Lower-cost generics by subscription: finasteride from $22 a month, daily tadalafil from $40 a month, and psychiatry medications from $49 a month.

What Gabriel includes

  • Free account (Gabriel Access): ask Gabriel anything about your health by app, web, text or voice, upload any lab report for a plain-words explanation, and pay cost-plus prices on prescriptions, lab tests and supplements.
  • Prescription requests: a licensed clinician reviews every request and decides.
  • Gabriel Core, $49 a month: unlimited virtual primary care and virtual urgent care, a care team by text, and member prices close to cost. Kids under 18 are included. See membership.
  • Gabriel Plus, $89 a month: everything in Core, plus a yearly root-cause visit (up to $200), an at-home lab kit, two clinician-reviewed health plans a year and two in-person urgent care visits a year (up to $150 each). See Plus.
  • Testosterone care: Gabriel helps you find and book a practitioner who offers testosterone care. See how to get TRT online and TRT cost.

Insurance and HSA or FSA

Hims: its help center says it can't accept insurance. It says GLP-1 weight loss medication is eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement, but the weight loss membership fee is not, and FSA or HSA cards can't be the card on file: you pay by credit or debit card and submit for reimbursement. Its testosterone FAQ says it doesn't take FSA or HSA plans as payment.

Gabriel: membership is not health insurance. The clinical portion of membership may be HSA or FSA eligible ($39 of Core's $49, $69 of Plus's $89), and the wellness portion is not. Gabriel can provide an itemized statement. Paying with HSA money is different from being allowed to contribute: membership could affect your HSA contributions under IRS Notice 2026-5, so check with your plan administrator or a tax advisor.

Where Hims is the better choice

  • You want one condition handled in one flow. Hims has a dedicated program, online consultation and subscription for needs such as hair loss and erectile dysfunction.
  • You want a brand-name GLP-1 pill or pen through a telehealth membership. Hims lists several brand-name options with posted starting prices. Gabriel sends brand-name drugs through the manufacturer's self-pay pharmacy.
  • You want an oral option for low testosterone from the same service. Hims offers enclomiphene plans with at-home labs. Through Gabriel, testosterone care means finding and booking a practitioner.
  • You want a posted price before you start. Hair, sexual health and mental health medicines show starting prices on hims.com, while Gabriel doesn't list prices for those.

Gabriel fits better when you want a compounded GLP-1 option, care for more than one issue, unlimited virtual primary and urgent care for your household, or help reading your labs.
