What it is
Bowen therapy, also called Bowenwork, is a gentle bodywork method developed by Tom Bowen in Australia in the 1950s. The practitioner uses light, rolling moves over muscles, tendons and fascia, often through light clothing, then pauses for a few minutes so your body can respond before the next set.
The moves are thought to work through the nervous system, helping muscles let go of tension. People use it for back and neck pain, sports injuries, headaches and stress, and it suits people who find deeper massage too intense.
