About this treatment

What this treatment is designed to do

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing 100% oxygen while inside a pressurized chamber (typically 1.5-3 times normal atmospheric pressure). This combination of increased pressure and pure oxygen allows your lungs to take in much more oxygen than breathing normally at sea level. Your blood carries this extra oxygen throughout your body, saturating tissues, stimulating growth factors and stem cells, fighting infection, and promoting healing. HBOT is FDA-approved for numerous medical conditions and increasingly used for wellness, anti-aging, and performance optimization.

Under normal conditions, oxygen is transported primarily by red blood cells. Hyperbaric pressure allows oxygen to dissolve directly into plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and lymph, reaching areas with poor circulation that normal oxygenation cannot. This dramatically increased tissue oxygenation triggers multiple healing mechanisms: enhanced white blood cell function, increased collagen production, new blood vessel formation (angiogenesis), stem cell mobilization, and reduction of inflammation. HBOT also creates beneficial oxidative stress that activates antioxidant pathways and mitochondrial biogenesis.

HBOT is used for wound healing (especially diabetic ulcers), traumatic brain injury, stroke recovery, Lyme disease, chronic infections, autism, long COVID, sports injuries, and anti-aging. Professional athletes use HBOT to accelerate recovery and enhance performance. Longevity enthusiasts incorporate it into comprehensive anti-aging protocols. While medical-grade hard chambers (used for FDA-approved indications) operate at higher pressures, soft portable chambers (1.3-1.5 ATA) provide wellness benefits with easier access. For serious healing, recovery, or longevity optimization, HBOT offers powerful therapeutic effects based on fundamental biology.

Gabriel intelligence

How Gabriel makes this treatment more actionable

Treatment fit

Root-cause context before you book

Gabriel can help decide whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) fits your symptoms, labs, and recovery goals before you spend money on a session.

Protocol pairing

Connect sessions to a real plan

Gabriel can pair this with diagnostics, supplements, peptides, and follow-up cadence so it fits into a real protocol instead of sitting in isolation.

Practitioner match

Find the right clinic, not just the nearest one

Gabriel uses trust, treatment fit, and modality overlap to surface practitioners who are more likely to be a strong match for this exact treatment path.

Evidence & safety

What to know before committing

HBOT has extensive research support and is FDA-approved for 14 medical conditions. Growing evidence supports benefits for TBI, stroke, autism, and other conditions. When administered in properly maintained chambers by trained operators, HBOT is very safe. Contraindications include untreated pneumothorax and certain medications. Ear barotrauma is the most common minor side effect. Overall, a powerful evidence-based therapy for healing and optimization.
