What it is
Low-frequency ultrasound (LFU) rejuvenation is an experimental approach that applies ultrasound at about 32 kHz to senescent cells: aging cells that stop dividing and release inflammatory signals. Rather than removing those cells, as senolytic drugs aim to, it aims to restore them.
Early lab and mouse research from the University of Texas Health Science Center reported that treated cells resumed dividing and showed fewer markers of senescence. It hasn't been tested in human clinical trials, so it isn't yet known whether it slows or reverses aging in people.
What happens at a visit
- A biological age and health assessment, such as epigenetic or senescence markers.
- A protocol set by a longevity physician or a research team.
- A non-invasive ultrasound applicator on the treatment area.
- Sessions of about 30 minutes with pulsed waves.
- Sessions are usually painless, with gentle warmth or vibration.
- Follow-up biomarker tests to track any change.
Who it is for
- People following longevity research closely
- People tracking biological age with epigenetic clocks
- People interested in alternatives to senolytic drugs
- People willing to join a study or wait for human data
Evidence and safety
The evidence so far is preclinical: peer-reviewed studies in cells and in mice, plus a patent filing. There are no human trials yet. The ultrasound settings used are within ranges considered safe for medical ultrasound, but the long-term effects in people are unknown. Anyone considering it should talk with a qualified longevity physician and look for a registered clinical trial.

Common questions
How much does Low-Frequency Ultrasound Rejuvenation cost?
Typically $500 to $2,000 a session (estimated, limited clinical availability), depending on the practice and the city.
Does Gabriel Care cover Low-Frequency Ultrasound Rejuvenation?
Eligible care in a covered category is paid from your monthly budget on Emerald, Sapphire and Onyx: up to 100% at Gabriel Network practices and up to 50% elsewhere. Ask Gabriel and it checks before you book.
Can Gabriel book a visit for me?
Not yet. Low-Frequency Ultrasound Rejuvenation is still emerging, so Gabriel walks you through the evidence and tells you about legitimate research or waitlist options instead of booking it.
